After graduating from the University of Alberta Fine Arts faculty Laurie worked as an art director and designer in London (U.K.) as well as in a variety of Canadian cities, including Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver and Victoria. She is a professional member of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada and is President of the local chapter and National representative for icograda (International Council of Graphic Design Associations).

In 1994, Laurie Darrah relocated to Victoria, where she formed a creative partnership with Simon Troop. They launched Muze Creative in March 1997. Over the years they have provided award winning creative to a broad group of clients from both the public and the private sectors including BC Ferries, Stressgen Biotechnologies, Government of British Columbia, the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria and more.

Besides graphic design Laurie and her husband Gary have also received accolades from Canadian House and Home Magazine for their kitchen renovation of their Arts and Crafts bungalow, a heritage designated house in Victoria West. The reno's continue!

Laurie's favourite colour is PMS 1805. Favourite typefaces are Scala and Garamond. Favourite sports include skiing (snow and water), tennis and motorcycling. Favourite waste of time is sitting in the garden basking in the sun listening to the fish in the pond. Favourite style diva is Audrey Hepburn.
