Sean Adams founded AdamsMorioka with Noreen Morioka, a strategy and communications firm, in 1993. The firm's manifesto included an approach of "clarity, purity and resonance" as applied to content, form and business.

In 1997, Sean was named to International Design magazine's ID40 - a list of the 40 most influential designers with international influence. Recently, in a feature article for the Los Angeles Times, AdamsMorioka was described as "major influences of popular culture at the end of the century."

Sean has lectured extensively throughout the world. He has received the Award of Distinction from the International Design Annual Review, and is a Fellow of the International Design Conference at Aspen. He is a past president of AIGA LA and serves on the National Board of the American Institute of Graphic Arts. He currently teaches design history at California Institute of the Arts.
