bryan: I believe I said the opposite actually. When Kurt died, I felt happy that he at least was able to relieve his own suffering. When Jobs died, I felt sad because he didn’t seem to want to die at all, despite the amount of suffering he was going through.

Although I thought this was a well-written post, it pains me to read that you felt the same (and even compared) when Kurt Cobain died to when Steve Jobs died.

One man quit. Took his own life to escape the ‘pain’ of fortune, fame and left behind an infant.

The other was taken from us too early by a horrible disease and fought every last minute he could.

The last 25 years have been a hell of a ride for Apple users. I started with a IIcx which had a 40MB hard drive and cost several thousand pounds. 40MB…how on earth did I do any work? Think I have had 7 generations of mac since then. The fruit flavoured iMacs were so exciting and influenced household product designs for irons and kettles. And then along came the iPhones, iTunes, iPads…all worked beautifully. Even if you have never owned an Apple product, your PC, mobile phone, music player has been influenced by Jobs.

Genius, Innovator and Visionary are greatly overused words but Jobs was exactly that. He will be hugely missed by millions worldwide.
