So quick question, what other than a resume is part of the “stuff” that should be sent? Cover letter, work samples, references, bribes, etc..?

The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the following knowledge areas:

“X/HTML, CSS, DOM, and JavaScript”

Damn.

“PHP or similar scripting language”

Damn.

“Mastery of web standards and cross-browser compatibility”

Damn.

“Preferable Job Qualifications:”

Sweet! I have some of those. Oh wait. You get into specifics.

Damn.

“Experience working on large-scale, high-availability web sites”

Damn. (Wait. In what capacity?)

“Successful industry experience using latest DHTML and ajax technologies”

Damn. (Though, this one seems loopholable. “experience using…”)

“Experience with SQL and relational database implementations serving as the backend to production web applications”

Damn.

“Experience with, or an interest in, working with the YUI JavaScript library
Familiarity with Subversion a plus”

Damn. I can’t even feign the interest part.

So, anyway. All that aside … when shall we pack our things?

This probably would have been pretty close to a dream job a couple years ago with Newsvine—pretty much a dream company. Interests have shifted since then, but glad to see Newsvine is growing.

The newsvine site lists the job as an intern position. Same job? And if so, is it an internship/jr level or regular position?

The job is definitely based in Seattle. No opportunity for remote employment, unfortunately. Salary range is competitive.
