I’m also excited to see this product, whatever it may be. I hope it’s introduced at MacWorld, but I learned long ago to chill my hopes for that conference, or I’ll be dissapointed every time. I’m in the martket for a new cell phone right now, though, and even the very low end of the possibilities here would probably sell me. I want one. :)

What I found interesting in the last post was that no one seem to be jazzed in the comments about the (possible) iPhoto integration with a cameraphone. That would excite me a lot more than being able to have music on a phone, which I don’t know how many people actually do yet?

I think though that Motorola is abosolutly fine with ‘putting iTunes in a phone’, Apple themselves may have other ideas though. Note that this would also clear the way for selling Pixar vids via 3G (In Asia and Europe, I don’t know how far behind the US is).

In the end, I think they’ll go where they can get the biggest (mid-long-term) margins. Those tend to be in the ringtone market, not the mobile market itself.

So, eventhough I’d like to see an Apple iPhone of sorts, I’m just not very hopefull.

The LiveCam of beautiful Seattle has gone away and all I see is your name and a pretty shade of bluegrey. Someone accidently hit the poweroff button?

Btw, where is the camera located? I was in Seattle recently for a couple of days, nice city :-)

As software seems to be the most cumbersome aspect of syncing one’s phone, I think that’d be the most sensible place for Apple to fit into the equation. Thus, as ideal as it’d be to see Apple involved in phones’ hardware and/or UI design, I think its role will start solely on the software end of things. By extending iTunes to treat certain Motorola cell phones much as it does an iPod photo, Apple can increase the amount of people who use iTunes, and (subsequently) its music store.

Anyway, that’s just my 2¢.
